What It's All About

Love to trail ride ? Are you on the trail for hours at a time? Do you spend hours of time with your horse? Maybe its time to try a Competitive trail ride! Competitive trail riding, driving, and endurance riding attracts lots of people and horses that just want to be on the trail, bonding with their horse and having fun. The sport has been around for many years and quietly growing. The competition is laid back with the ability to set your own goals and ride at all levels. We have members who enjoy a local 25 mile CTR and some who ride and drive internationally at World Equestrian Games. With mottoes like “Too finish is to win” competitors and judges are known to help you get through a ride. Come to a ride and You’ll see the happiest bunch of riders and beautifully fit horses ever assembled. Learn more

VERDA was formed in the 1970's as VECTRA, by a group of Vermont distance riders and drivers who organized a couple of Competitive Trail Rides. One of the first was the January Thaw, a 25 mile ride and drive that still takes place Mid January in South Woodstock Vermont. Our membership ranges from novices to USET and USEF competitors. You can set your goals to enjoy a 15 to 25 mile CTR, conquer a multi day 50, 60 or 100 miler or ride your own pace fast or slow in endurance. The sports motto is “To Finish is to Win”.
